SUPPORT   US

Did you know that we are a charity?   For over 65 years, the Citizens Advice Bureaux has been a vital part of the fabric of your community.   This has only been possible through the support of the community – through our voluntary Trustee Board, voluntary advisers, and financial support.

Because of this, we are completely independent: all our advice is impartial, confidential and free.   The support and generosity of members of the public helps us to maintain our independence.

The demand for our service is growing all the time, and our funding doesn’t keep pace with that demand.   Extra help is needed to pay for:-

However, this year we need even more support to finance the extension of the Farnborough premises.

For the past few years we have experienced a significant increase in demand for our advice.   We have been successful in recruiting additional volunteer advisers, but have run out of space in which to undertake our work.

Rushmoor Borough Council has agreed to the building of an extension to the Community Hall to provide 2 more interview rooms, a larger waiting room and more desk space for advisers.

Unfortunately, Rushmoor is not able to fully fund this extension so we are seeking to raise £36,000 to both contribute to the building and to buy new furniture.

Your donation will be very much appreciated.   We will be keen to work with you to help maximize the publicity you gain from your donation.   We intend to publicly record our thanks to donors on a display board in the building.   Those making a donation of £5,000 or more have the option of having a room named in their honour.

The new extension will be opened by the Mayor of Rushmoor.

All of our work can help you – and every day helps many of the most vulnerable people in the local community.

You can help us either by volunteering (click 'Volunteering' on the menu for more information) or through financial support by donating online or contact Jean Rathbone, Farnborough Manager, if you wish to contribute to our premises fund.

All contributions are very gratefully received and will help keep our services going.

ORGANISATIONS PROVIDING FUNDS

Most of the funding to pay for the management and day to day costs of providing the service comes from:-

Rushmoor Borough Council – for our core general advice service

Legal Services Commission - for specialist services

Financial Inclusion Fund (from DBERR) for debt advice

Vinspired - The volunteering site for 16-25 year olds in England

We also have funding partnerships with local organisations:-

Primary Care Trusts (Surrey and Hampshire)

  Pavilion Housing Association

Finally the small, but much valued, Broadhurst Trust (a very local charity).

These all help us to run services for specific groups of people.
